I've heard of Mylar ballon strings that, when you rubbed it between your fingernails, would produce an occassion-appropriate greeting, such as 'Happy Birthday'. Did such a ballon string ever exist?

I'm finding singing balloons: "These are much more than just a mylar balloon, each Sing-A-Tune balloon comes to life with popular music, character voices and actual real sound effects. These measure a huge 28 inches in diameter and are the world's first and only singing and talking balloons. Sing-A-Tune balloons capture the hearts of all those who experience them, with a simple tap, these balloons will play with astonishing sound quality, well known popular songs that commensurate with the spectacular illustrations on each balloons."

yes.. when I was a kid we got these ballons at christmas time... they had a strip sort of like a plastic tie... you taped the proper end to the balloon and when you came along the rough edge with your thumbnail it woud say "merry christmas".. (no site.. just been there"...
