Arthur Worsley, Ventriloquist: Born Failsworth, 1920. At the age of eleven his bill matter was 'The World's Youngest Ventriloquist'. His dummy, Johnny Green, was the personality plus governor who spent the entire act criticising and giving instruction to Arthur, 'turn me round son!'

Arthur Worsley was a British ventriloquist, very big in the 60s. Ed Sullivan said he was the best in the world. He died earlier this month and his obituary appeared in the London Times on July 20th. You can read it at

    Charlie Brown
Incidentally, Arthur never ever spoke a word, no-one knew his voice as he even shunned interviews. Charlie spent the entire act insulting Arthur, generally considered the greatest ventriloquist of all time.
