    Romantic French composer (1849-1895) who wrote symphonic, chamber, operas and concertos, but today he's remembered only for a single "Berceuse" from his best opera. A pity because he was a great melodist, and his violin concertos are really lovely. Who was this short lived composer?

    Benjamin Louis Paul Godard (August 18, 1849, Paris – January 10, 1895, Cannes) was a prolific French composer, probably best remembered as a writer of salon music.

    It seems that this Hungarian composer wrote two violin concertos, but only the first has been published, and it's one of the most beautiful, romantic concertos of the 19th century. Milstein's recording is already legendary. Who was this guy?

    Polish-Lithuanian violinist, composer and professor (1886-1943), Auer's pupil, gave many concerts in Europe, settled in America then gave violin lessons. Wrote three violin concertos, some symphonic works and many for violin and piano or solo. Friend of Heifetz. Considered by Americans one of their composers. Brother was also a composer and pianist who recorded as accompanist with Heifetz. Do you know who he was?
