    Is it true that during the heat of the day fish will often move into deeper, colder water because warm water contains less oxygen than cold water?

    		Yes it is true. Not only will abnormally high water temperatures cause severe physiological stress in the fish, they also reduce the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. Cold water contains a lot more usable oxygen than hot water.
