A 19th century Hungarian composer, who did several operas, symphonic works, very fine chamber, but today is foremost remembered for his only published violin concerto, one of the most beautiful romantic pieces ever written. However not many recordings exist. Do you know who he was?
Outstanding Italian violist and violinist born in Rimini in 1941. He's a complete virtuoso on both instruments, with a great technique, beautiful sound and a lovely "cantabile" style. His recordings of Paganini's violin and/or viola works are anthological. He played the viola half of his life, but turned to the violin in the 80s. He made fantastic recordings on the viola with Accardo. Do you know him?
The first complete recording of Paganini's caprices on solo violin as written were Ruggero Ricci's in 1947. But the first real version, an absurd arrangement for violin with piano, of the 24 were previous. Who made it and when?
