A certain violin work, very famous today, was commissioned by a famous violinist who later regretted the idea because it took him more than a year of work to play the piece well. It is one of the greatest violin works of the past century. Who was the violinist, the composer and the work?

Yes,Neelie. Bartok delivered his magnificent solo violin sonata, and Menuhin almost went crazy trying to play it. Is an awful difficult piece, technically and emotionally extremely demanding.
