I know for a fact (read experiment) that they can survive inside a microwave oven. :) But that's a different type of radiation.

They CAN NOT survive a Microwave Oven......All that happened is that they were not in line with the Magnetron Waves.

And NO! IT is NOT radiation. (at least not as you compare it) It is Radio waves!
As far as Nuclear is concerned......Fallout possibly. Direct blast???? NO way!!!

According to the CBS 5's segment Ask a Question with Ken Bastida, cockroaches normally may survive it because of their ability to hide in small places. But if exposed to that high amount of radiation it would not survive.

Radio waves ARE Electromagnetic Radiation. They are non-ionising radiation compared to nuclear related Alpha, Beta an Gamma waves which are ionising radiation.
This question made me do some reading on Chernobyl and the effect it has had on local wildlife populations exposed to extremely high levels of background radiation and there is a surprising amount of animals still living within the danger area surrounding the reactor. There are insects, birds, small mammals and reptiles but no mention of cockroaches but it stands to reason that if there were cockroaches living in that area then they too would be surviving.
As yet there are no reports of hideously deformed gigantic flesh-eating rats either.

On the electromagnetic spectrum there are radio waves, microwaves, infrared, xray, UV , and gamma. Gamma beta and alpha are NUCLEar radiation.
