    According to the Global Peace Index, it's Norway.

    I should be flattered (at least I am a peaceful man).
    Still, I think some important countries are missing from this list. For example, there are 22 independent states of the world who don't have a national army.

    Personally I think Iceland is a good candidate for #1.

    Norway rated world's most peaceful country.
    Scandinavian countries are the most peaceful in the world and, perhaps not surprisingly, Iraq the most dangerous and violent, according to a new international league table published today. The UK is listed only 49th of the 121 countries surveyed, with the US at 96.

    Norway comes top of the table with its near neighbours Denmark, Sweden and Finland all listed in the top seven. New Zealand is second and Ireland fourth, one place above Japan.
