Now something of a regular fixture, Lloyd Scott is back and this time he's come as movie legend, Indiana Jones.

The Leukaemia survivor first proved his mettle to a bemused audience in 2002 when he crossed the finishing line more than five days after he set out dressed in a 130lb deep-sea diving suit.

Last year, he faced the challenge on St George's Day, in a suit of armour, complete with model dragon in tow.

And this year, the accomplished fundraiser is hauling an 8ft-wide, 300lb boulder around London, in a re-enactment of a famous scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

"No matter how hot it gets, the hat is going to stay on," he told BBC News.

Lloyd, who expects to complete the marathon at 0800 BST on Monday, is raising money for the Unicorn Theatre for Children and First Step charities.

Lloyd Scott MBE (born 13 October 1961 in Stepney, East London) is the Director of Fundraising for the pioneering charity THE AUTISM TRUST. Best known in the UK for competing in the 2002 London marathon in a deep-sea diving suit during which he broke the world record for slowest marathon time.

After surviving leukaemia, Scott has raised more than £5 million for various charities, through what he calls "unique charity fundraising events".

"This year Lloyd has devised an incredible costume which is completely different from any of his previous guises. On 13th April Lloyd will be standing at the start of the London Marathon as a 9 feet high Iron Giant!

The height has been achieved by Lloyd wearing stilts inside the robot’s legs. The giant’s upper body is fully animated with moving arms, illuminated eyes and moving mouth giving the giant a happy smiling face. He weighs 70 lbs and is over 4 feet wide."

Not sure if he broke his own record

"A GIANT robot is expected to cross the London Marathon finishing line today (Friday - 18th April) - five days after everyone else! (Started on Sunday 13th)
