    		In March 2008, an outbreak of food poisioning in cataloupe, known as the Salmonella Litchfeild outbreak sickend 50 people in sixteen states, including Colorado and Missouri.

    The safest prevenative of getting salmonella is to throughly wash all food.

    Researches have found evidence that could lead to a possible vaccine
    ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmonella ) However no cure has been made known yet.
