    United States for one.

    The Bureau of Justice Statistics, Capital Punishment 2006, (December 2007) lists the following as capital crimes, by state:

    Colorado. First-degree murder with at least 1 of 17 aggravating factors; treason.

    Louisiana. First-degree murder; aggravated rape of victim under age 13; treason (La. R.S. 14:30, 14:42, and 14:113).

    Treason is punishable in Britain by death. It includes: plotting the wounding or death of the sovereign or his or her spouse or heir; levying war against the sovereign in his or her realm; and giving aid or comfort to the sovereign's enemies in wartime.

    Under Israeli law, those convicted of treason during wartime can face a death sentence but that punishment has never been carried out.

    It is also punishable by death in Ethiopia:

    "...and threatened to charge journalists with treason, an offense punishable by death in Ethiopia."
