    Question #95608. Matthew_07 asks:

Which American television series has the most seasons? For example, "Friends" has ten seasons.

    BRY2K

    Meet The Press. (61 seasons)

Meet the Press made its television debut on November 6, 1947 and is still on the air as of 2008. It is now the longest-running television show in worldwide broadcasting history (though episode/airtime-wise the ESPN daily series SportsCenter has most air time with over 30,000 editions aired since 1979).

The longest running U.S. syndicated television series is "Soul Train" with 35 seasons under its belt.

The show began airing in selected cities across the United States, on a weekly basis, on October 2, 1971.

As a nod to Soul Train's longevity, the show's opening sequence (during later seasons) contains a claim that it is the "longest-running, first-run, nationally-syndicated program in television history," with over 1,100 episodes produced from the show's debut through the 2005-06 season.

"Guiding Light" has 56 seasons, but if you count the years it aired on the radio the number rises to 71 seasons.
