At this year’s Olympic and Paralympics Games in Beijing, we are committed to the Official Timekeeping and data-handling for 28 different sports at 37 venues. Our presence at the Games will be impressive: 450 on-site professionals, 420 tons of equipment including 70 public scoreboards as well as 322 sport-specific scoreboards, 175 km (105 miles) of cables and optical fibre, 65 TV generators and state-of-the-art timekeeping and data-handling technology developed by OMEGA and adapted to the requirements of each sport.
As Official Timekeeper of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, OMEGA is responsible for official results at all competitions. OMEGA’s timekeeping professionals provide comprehensive timekeeping services that include the display of results to competitors and the public at the venues, data handling and the provision of On Venue Results (OVR), and the delivery of official results for distribution by the print, broadcast and network media to audiences around the world. OMEGA is the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be OMEGA’s 23rd as Official Timekeeper.
