    		He accomplished the shortest solution to peg solitaire, it involves touching only 18 pegs (not counting those removed from the board).

    It was proven to be the shortest possible by John Beasley in 1964.

    		He provided an 18 move solution to the Fifteen Puzzle, which for years could only be done in 19 moves.

    		Ernest Bergholt actually provided a solution to Peg Solitaire back in 1912 that required only 18 moves to sweep the board of pegs except for a lone fellow landing beautifully in the center hole on the final move of the game.
