    If and when Prince William becomes king, will he undergo a name change or will he be known as King Billy?

    		As the eldest son of the current Prince of Wales, William may ascend to the respective thrones of the United Kingdom and the other 15 Commonwealth realms. If William decides to use his first name as his regnal name, he would be known as William V. He can of course, as monarch, choose any regnal name.

    In history many monarchs have been known as King and Queen. I can understand that because Queen Elizabeth II was an heir to the throne that her husband would be known as Prince and not a King, but what would happen if it was reversed and a male was the King, would his wife be called Queen or Princess?

    In 1936 King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry someone who was not British. But then Queen Elizabeth II married a non-British person, and what if Prince William married a lady who was not from Britain, would he have to abdicate to Prince Harry also?
