What international airport is named for a bird?

Question #97074. Asked by author. (Jun 28 08 4:15 PM)

This technically answers your question, but it is probably not the bird you're looking for:

V.C. Bird International Airport (IATA: ANU, ICAO: TAPA) is located on the island of Antigua, eight kilometres northeast of St. John's, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda. . . .it was named in honor of Sir Vere Cornwall Bird (1910-1999), the first prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda.

No, the airport I'm looking for is named for an actual bird, in fact a wading bird.

The town of Plover, Wisconsin, has an airport which, according to this site is called the Stevens Point Municipal airport, but you could mount an argument for calling it Plover Airport.....

....but this is more likely to be correct
