An Italian romantic violinist-composer, he wrote many pieces for violin and piano including a full sonata and several chamber works, like his six string quartets nobody ever plays. But he's famous between violinist and violin fans for one and only one piece; a brillant and fast dance that uses every technical resource possible. Do you know who he was and what piece I mean?

A certain piece was written originally for solo violin, but it is now very famous in an arrangement for violin and piano which differ very significantly from the original baroque, and it's a rather romantic work. The arranger never recorded the piece, but almost every violinist did it. The piece is know by a name. Which is the piece, who is the composer and who is the arranger?
