It premiered locally as a live show, Bandstand, on Philadelphia television station WFIL-TV (Channel 6, now WPVI-TV) on October 7, 1952 in "Studio 'B'" with Bob Horn hosting. AFter he was fired, it continued with Dick Clark as host:
    ABC (1957–1987)
    Syndication (1987–1989)

Who was the only performer to appear on 'American Bandstand' performing live instead of lip-synching?

Specifically, at which building in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, did ABC broadcast Dick Clark's American Bandstand? What is the name of the American Bandstand building?

On some American Bandstand shows from the mid-to-late 1970s, they'd come back from break after whoever had 'performed' live, and Dick Clark would do a 10 to 15 second tease for whatever was coming up in the second half, and then the camera would pan across the audience, who'd all be clapping and swaying to the same song. It's a funky-synth instrumental song I've heard maybe 3 times on the radio, but I've never heard the artist/title announced. Anyone know this?
