Pho24 is certainly a contender: Since that rocky beginning, Pho24 has grown into one of Vietnam's largest fast-food chains, with 24 restaurants nationwide and plans to open another 73 across the country by the end of 2008. Late last year, one of Vietnam's biggest venture capital firms bought a 30 percent stake in Pho24. Trung says he'll use that money to fund his expansion. Several shops are already open in Indonesia and the Philippines. A half-dozen more are set to open in Australia and South Korea.
