    		Smorgasbord is a Swedish word for a type of Scandinavian buffet. It comes from the Swedish words for sandwich (smorgas) and table (bord).

    In English the word refers to any kind of buffet with a variety of dishes.

    		By the way, the Swedish word is 'smörgåsbord' (smörgås = sandwich), not 'smorgasbord'.

    While English 'smorgasbord' refers to any buffet, the Swedish word refers to a buffet with specific dishes.
