If you mean the Finnish civil war, that happened in 1917, just after the Communist Revolution in Russia. The war was fought between the Finnish Red Guard and the White Guard, which eventually won and confirmed Finnish independence from Russia.
Among other effects of the war (besides the devistating and tragic loss of life) was the driving to bankruptcy of one of Finland's most celebrated natives, Jean Sibelius. Because of the interruptions of the war Sibelius lost a good amount of his wealth to the Red Guard's looting his home. And because the new state of Finland took its time to sign the Bern convention of international copywright laws, Sibelius could not reclaim royalties for the music he had written up to that point (among which were several patriotic orchestral works). Though eventually he regained some of his fortune (due more to celebrity status than new music).

The Finnish War was fought 1808-1809, and has nothing to do with the Finnish civil war.

The Finnish War was fought between Sweden and Russia from February 1808 to September 1809. As a result of the war, the eastern third of Sweden was established as the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland within Imperial Russia. Other notable effects were the Swedish parliament's adoption of a new constitution and the establishment of the House of Bernadotte, the new Swedish royal house, in 1818.
