Well...there's this spelled Eoforwic...
On Saturday November 6, the Royal Citie of Eoforwic (Toronto, Ontario) held a grand celebration to mark its 30th anniversary. Laird Colyne Stewart tells the story.
The Royal Citie of Eoforwic is both the capital and the greatest city in the ancient Kingdom of Ealdormere.
The Canton of Eoforwic is a local group within the Society for Creative Anachronism.
Eoforwic is situated in downtown Toronto, with its centre in the University.

Okay...one more try:
Eoforwic became the capital of the Anglian kings of Northumbria and, when the Anglo-Saxons were eventually converted to Christianity, it also became a centre for the new religion.

You are so right.
We Norwegians (who founded and controlled the place) called it Jorvik, the Brits call it York. It's a nice place anyway.
