Yes ! The Taipei 101 building in Taiwan is one of the tallest structures in the world. Among its’ safety features is a massive steel ball or sphere that acts as a damper to counteract the swaying that extremely tall buildings are prone to, secondary to wind or earthquakes. This steel ball is visible from the observation decks and from the restaurant between the 89th and 91st floors. The design of this building is based partly on the bamboo plant, native to Taiwan. Anyone who has been on an observation deck of a really tall building knows that it is possible to see the horizon.
