(3rd battle) Ypres, Belgium in 1917 June 07.
one of the greatest battles of history was fought. In 1917, the Allies launched a massive attack upon the German positions, and the 3rd battle of Ypres commenced. British, Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians and two Irish divisions; the 36th Ulster Division and the 16th Irish Division.
I am not so confident on this part....are they commemorated at Lone Tree Cemetery? The Memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town on the road to Menin (Menen) and Courtrai (Kortrijk), and bears the names of 55,000 men who were lost without trace during the defence of the Ypres Salient in the First World War.

Island of Ireland Peace Park. The park, the central feature of which is a replica of an Irish ‘Round Tower’, was unveiled on 11 November 1998 by the President of Ireland Mary McAleese in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and King Albert II of Belgium.
