    What was the first year the Volkswagen Super Beetle came into production?

    		February 17, 1972 marked the 15,007,034 Beetle being produced, passing the mark set by the Model T Ford as most produced single model car. The 1303 model was also introduced that year. This 'SuperBeetle' was the same as the 1302 but had a sharply curved windshield, a shorter hood and a full width sculpted dashboard.
