    Everyone knows the story of Ruth, the Moabitess who followed her mother in law Naomi to Jerusalem. What was the name of her sister, who went home?

    		Orpah was Ruth's sister, both of whom were daughters of the Moabite king, Eglon (Midrash Rabbah, Ruth 2:9). After the deaths of their husbands, Orpah literally turned her back on Naomi and Judaism, preferring instead to remain in Moab. After her departure, there is no more mention of Orpah in the Megillah.
