    Various hoaxers and swindlers have tried to sell the Eiffel Tower since it was built in 1889. There was one serious offer from a man who could have paid for it. It was refused. Who was it?

    		Robert P. McCulloch Sr bought the London Bridge and had it dismantled and transported to the the USA where it was rebuilt brick by brick in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The story is that he first tried to buy the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa but his offers were refused.
