Who played Mr. Doo Bee on "Romper Room"? I saw somewhere that it was Fred Astaire at one point. Does anyone know if this is true?

"Romper Room" was a locally-franchised and syndicated program, from 1953-1994, and every locale had its own hostess and "Mr. Do Bee." By 1953, Astaire was a famous man. I suppose he COULD have agreed to appear on some local version of "Romper Room," in costume, but I doubt it. One of my cousins was a child on "Romper Room" in Virginia in the 1960's.
