    It's a contraction of the first pharmacy run by the founder of RoC, Jean-Charles Lissarrague:

    Roge Cavailles


    C’est en 1943 que Jean-Charles LISSARRAGUE, Docteur en pharmacie, prend la direction de la pharmacie Rogé Cavaillès, spécialisée en dermatologie et préparations magistrales. Décrit alors comme un véritable visionnaire de la cosmétologie, il allie rigueur pharmaceutique et élaboration de produits
    de beauté.

    Au début des années 1950, il développe à la demande des dermatologues les premières formules cosmétiques sans parfum : c’est la naissance de la marque RoC® (contraction de Rogé Cavaillès).
