    Why did Lenin give Abkhasia and South Ossetia to Georgia?

    As a gesture of reconciliation and proletarian class solidarity, all of which were undone by Stalin who sought a " divide and conquer " strategy by splitting Ossetia in two and granting autonomy to the Abkhazians.
