    In economical terms, what is a ‘walkout’?

    Seems to be a refusal to be a part of an economy for certain time peroid as an act of protest.

    Originally i think a walkout is the name of a 'protest strike' of any kind. But I saw the word mentioned in relation to the recent financial crisis, and I wonder if it has another meaning, related to the stockmarket?

    I think a 'walkout' is pretty much a 'walkout' -- Regardless, of where it comes down.

    "Investors Walk Out On Emerging Market Markets"

    Meaning, investors have become 'gun shy' and are pulling out or backing off.
