Arpeggionist "GREENLAND"
(translated from Hebrew)

High, high, high
Above spring clouds,
At a quick pace,
A pilot speeds through the air,
As if he is trying to escape the setting sun.
High, high, high
Above the evening heavens,
A passenger looks out the window
At a sight one wouldn't believe a man could see.
Great is the distance between him and the northern ocean,
And between them still are several white layers of clouds.
So high over the sea is he,
That - after a short while's glance -
He cannot know
Just where the evening clouds end,
And where the ice begins -
He cannot tell the difference.
High, high, high
Above spring clouds,
At a quick pace,
A pilot speeds through the air
As if he is trying to escape the setting sun.

"On the Second Wednesday"
(also translated)

On the afternoon of the second Wednesday of the month of July,
Towards a warm evening up north, there I descended
From the mountain, to the stream, to the river,
To the River Dan.

On a warm afternoon, towards the evening
Of the second Wednesday of the month of July,
I came to the river, and saw a wooden log
Hovering gently on the water.
It looked so peaceful, that log,
On the River Dan.

On a warm afternoon, towards the evening
Of the second Wednesday of the month of July,
After seeing such restfulness, such peace,
I deank the cool, clean, fresh, clear water
Of the River Dan,
To... life on the afternoon of the second Wednesday of the month of July!

TBarber9 I see faces
That are blue,
green,yellow,
red,black,
white,brown.
But when i look
closely i see those
faces the same as
you and me.

quigongem ...Showcasing smiles just like you and me
Making us forget our troubles by a single revelry
The faces inviting us to jump on delight
Amidst the Brilliant moon and Winters night...

Towards the shadow's spell we pressed on
A glitter of the past sunshine still rages on
Falling snow may be blocking the way
But We'll still pursue the horizon and to sadness say no way...

An Ode to Toilet Paper.
---------------------------
Lo, I behold this soft caresser
Of cheeks pressed against the cushioned seat.
To wipe away with ease and tender
Yesterday's meal I did eat.

Begone! Begone! O' unsightly stain
Flush ye to a sewage hell.
And ne'er darken my loo again.
Then at last!...my stomach shall be well.

(Having a bit of fun. Please feel free to delete this one.)

In life the riddles that puzzle me
The questions of which I ask: QUI ?

When answers revealed to all and one
Eureka! All's so clear, the mystery's GON.

The previous poet doth make this faith stem
My thanks for kind words..you are truly a GEM.

So as I see the faces, just one step away
I reach to touch, but they quickly fade
I realize the mess I made
I have to clean the blade.

On the way the walls paint themselves
And the colors suddenly come back
Graffiti spatters against the brick
And now it's darkness I happily lack.

There are wonderful writers of fine poetry
And they quite under-utlise Threads at FT,
If players keep stretching their brains for a question
They would write a mere epic in such a Short Session!

quigongem ...I can feel the warmth of a fresh start
The universe spinning, with a fashion smart
I feel that my dreams would find their inch
And open up like a beautiful eclipse...

As I lay awake one hot summer's night
Gazing at the stars in utter despair
Tears rolling down my cheeks in the pale moonlight
I called out to her but she was not there.

Shivering badly, sweat pouring out every pore
I cried: Why did she leave me when I'd never leave her.
Is she running away with the man from the local drugstore?
Then I realize...no, silly, to get medicine for my rheumatic fever.

(She purchased the medicine, I drank some, felt better, started playing trivia again.)

My fever returns,
But is it of love?
All I seek is peace, at heart,
Like the symbolic dove.

I open my eyes,
And for the first time, truly see,
See the world
As the world sees me.

My fever abates,
My passion is gone,
But taking it's place
Is my heart full of song.

Finally at rest from my rheumatic pains
Though not in death
I feel so alive, the world is mine,
Without a hint of dread.

So I'm gonn(a) face the dark
And step into the light
See how far I push my luck
How long I can stay in line

I'll test myself today to ease my sorrow
Then go and get the scores tommorow
Put 'em on my fridgerator door
To show them all I'm something much more

Up to bed,
Bed to sleep,
Sleep to wake,
Get up to make
Breakfast.

Eyes on fridge
See
Plans to show the world
The real me.

Got up to make some breakfast
In the toaster went some bread and wham!
Out came the toast, what to put on it?
Gazed at my feet...toe jam...jam!

toocool4u a haiku:

Cats
You can't blame a cat
For killing little bunnies
That's just what cats do
Predator

There'll come a time when bunnies
Convert predator cats into rugs
Nothing will be able to stop them
'Cause their leader is someone named Bugs.

LOL. Those toe jam and Bugs Bunny poems were funny Ben. Of course the bunny one started out because of toocool4u, so thanks! Of course I must give credit to crazycube for finally continuing the story-poem. And it stayed with the whole "frigerator" thing. I can't think of a verse right now.
