The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Very time limited and to prevent it being dragged up in the future just because someone wants the Chatterbox badge. No replies are required to this answer.

Today - 22nd.June - is the 25th. anniversary of one of the most infamous events in world football (soccer) history.

1986 World Cup,Quarter-Final - England v Argentina.

Diego Maradona, one of the greatest players ever to grace the game, blatantly cheated by punching the ball into the net 6 minutes into the 2nd. half. To compound this act of sporting piracy,in the press conference after the game,he had the bare-faced cheek to deny that he handled the ball and called it "The Hand of God"! SHEESH!

Then,four minutes later:

I've never been able to decide if what he did next made that easier to swallow.....or harder! He got the ball just inside his own half, went on a mazy run beating SIX England defenders as if they weren't there, then slotted the ball past Peter Shilton for their second goal. Incredible! In 2002,this was voted "The Goal of the Century". ARRGH!
