I've considered getting some tattoos, but I subscribed to Anton's method: Wait and see if you still think it's a good idea.
Additionally, I've also figured the chances of me having an identifying mark that would work against me are high enough that I've opted against it. :)

I've read through the thread and there seems to be a divide between those who like tattoos and those who don't.
Myself, i have one tattoo and i plan on getting more,it is of a silhouette on my upper left arm of my home province,P.E.I,and a short poem i wrote myself.
I agree with the sentiment that you should not get one on impulse, the one that i was originally going to get i was talked out of and i'm glad.It was of a singer that i grew to dislike.
Perhaps a Canadian Flag and my S.I.N.,in case something unfortunate happens to me and they need to identify my body, there it is.;)

No. Not that I haven't thought about it, bu I just can't think of anything that I want permanently drilled onto my skin.

I don't like needles. Tattoos are rather tacky. I see actresses wear a beautiful dress that clashes with their tattoos and it is just awful. My Niece has one that has faded over the years and she regrets it. When I was a retail manager, I did not allow visible tattoos. If you did not cover them, then you had no job.

Years ago, I was in the Military and saw many guys with many tattoos.
To each his own. As for me, no way!

No. I get bored with my calendar picture after a month; there's no way I'd like a permanent art piece on my body. I like that bare skin.

Just got my second one yesterday. It's a small black paw print with the names 'Chloe', 'Hazel' and 'Ruby' in a circle around it. Chose this design in memory of two of my pets who sadly passed away a few years ago.

I met a former student of mine who is now studying medicine and wants to be a plastic surgeon. Two heavily tattoed girls passed by, the boy looked at them and said with a nasty grin: "My future clients":)

Take my advice Laylah- don't! There are a lot of risks involved and frankly it looks gross.

I have two spiders on the back of my left hand, my right forearm is covered with 'tribal' designs, I have a dragon around my left bicep in the art style of the ancient Britons, and a large tattoo of my regimental badge and mottoes 'Ne Obliviscaris' and 'Sans Peur' over my right shoulder.
Did they hurt when they were done? Not at all, but then I have a high pain threshold.
Do I regret having them? Sometimes, not too often, just sometimes... Except for my regimental badge and mottoes of course!

If I had money and nerve I would tatoo my arms with ancient Egyptian gods and symbols? I would also tatoo my inner bottom lip with a nasty word ;)
