Subject: Got any tattoos?
Date: Jun 18 08

I had an inkling we'd already done this thread, but couldn't find it anywhere. My apologies if it's a duplicate.

So... tell me about the tattoos that you have.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

I do want to get two.

Crossed Lacrosse sticks on the back of my leg, crossed hockey sticks on the other.

Working in an OB-GYN office, I have to say nothing looks worse than a tattoo on old flabby skin. Think before you do something so permanent.

diamondback1 Don't have one, don't want one. I find them to be trashy looking, usually. Some of very small, delicate ones can be pretty, though. Oh—and I saw a woman with a fairly large lily on her shoulder blade, once, and it was quite artistic. I don't know how it will look when she's sixty, but it was graceful.

I too don't have any and don't want any. Like Schoonie, I am a nonconformist.

This is a very interesting topic. I am surprised that people feel so strongly about a something that in many cultures, is an accepted custom among both sexes.

I volunteered at a veteran's hospital, and tattoos on the scapula hold up very well. They may fade a bit, but they don't get "crinkly", as on other parts of the body.

When Michael Jordan was inducted into the Hall of Fame, a Chicago television station had twenty-three hours of Jordan. It included games from the early nineties and it was amazing that watching early games, there weren't any tattoos on the players. Now, there are players out there that even have tattoos on their heads. Awful. The difference a decade makes.

I don't like anything enough to want it on my body permanently. I also am scared of needles... so it's a double whammy.

I so feel like I've answered this one before on another thread in another life somewhere. I have two. A Celtic knot on my left shoulder blade and a dragon on my upper right arm.

soggybottom i donot have tatts, but a patient in the hospital that i was caring for had a pig tattoo on one foot and a rooster tattoo on the other foot. he was a sailor and the tattoos were to keep him from ever drowning at sea. it must have worked because he was an elderly gentleman.

Redwallcrazy I don't have any and I don't want any. The only tattoos I've ever had were those ones you buy at the shop and you apply them with water and they come off while you sleep... :)

For those who say that tattoos look silly when everything goes "down south" and the skin is all wrinkly - wrinkly skin isn't particularly nice-looking either, is it? ;)

I don't have any tattoos yet, but I've got some in planning.

My thoughts exactly. I didn't get mine until I was in my late 40's. Always wanted one and finally had the money.
I would like to get another one on my left calf soon.
