Cheese has to be amongst my favourite foods, Stilton, Brie (well runny with grapes), mature cheddar, and my faves at the moment are Wensleydale with Cranberries and with Peach and Mango...yummy

Benny, did you know that John Cleese's father changed his last name from Cheese to Cleese?

My favourite cheese is old Cheddar, nice and shrp, with fresh bread and pickled onions - yum. I'm also partial to Brie, with crackers, grapes and a glass of white wine, and Gruyere is good, too. I can't stand the strong-smelling cheeses like Gorgonzola or Roquefort, though.

Love Wensleydale too - must be the Wallace in us DMC!
Adore all those runny French cheeses which smell dreadful, but taste mild. Roquefort is lovely, but do dislike Gorganzola because it tastes as dreadful as it smells.
Davidstow Chedder from the west country is good - strong and crumbly - I had allthose rubbery Chedder copies from outside the UK. Think we should have em for breach of copyright - Champagne did it!

Ha ha Sherry, you sure we're not related lol ( notes similar tastes in make-up and cheese lol)

Davidstow cheddar- extra mature is well yummy. I like Cracker Barrel too.

Not keen on Edam - it tastes like rubber! Or what I would envisage rubber to taste like.

My favourite has to be Danish Bimbo, closely followed by Venezuelan Beaver Cheese.

If neither of the above are available, I do love Caerphilly. I only trust one cheese shop in New York. Said cheese shop does have an internet business, complete with "stinky cheese" selection. I can vouch for the "stinky" factor. Unfortunately, the store does not employ a bazouki player.

Extra sharp cheddar and swiss. Great as grilled cheese sandwiches, or grated on a salad or baked potato.

I've never liked cheese, it tastes so, well CHEESY! I don't mind in IN food, like pizza or lasagne, but the thought of eating a Carré de l'Est cheese sandwich fills me with dread. (I guess if I was on a desert island & the only shop was a cheese shop - with cheese in it - then I'd soon learn to like it.)
I get the impression that some of the cheese references in the previous postings have not been fully appreciated. In which case, you REALLY need to watch this...

He was reading Rogue Herries by Horace Walpole? Surely he meant Hugh Walpole. And yes, I don't care how £^&%*%$ runny the Camembert is.....

I did manage to find one where they cleaned that line up! The original wouldn't have gone down too well with the administrators I suspect. As for the Horace/Hugh line, well that's probably an in-joke, knowing them.

I once actually met a man called Arthur Wensleydale - the grief he got from this sketch was a joy to behold. People either wanted to buy Venezuelan Beaver Cheese from him, or shoot him for wasting their time. All kudos to him though, he relished the attention, he fitted tv arials in the real world.

Swiss. Edam. Tilsit. Harzer - yummy! Quark. Camembert. Occasionally Roquefort. Too bad most good cheese has a gazillion calories per bite.

I just bought some Shropshire Blue and have eaten the lot. It only remained unopened for about 30 minutes.... delicious!

I forgot to mention Caerphilly and Wensleydale, Gloucestershire and Gouda. I prefer hard cheeses to the softer varieties, by and large, although I like cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches on black bread - divine.

I flatly refuse to buy such abominations as Cheeswiz or however you spell it, those disgusting cheese strings, which I'm sure ruin anyone's palate for real cheese, and any ersatz cheese filling or spread. Yuck!

ewwwwwwwww.. Cheese is the most HORRIBLE FOOD you could ever imagine to eat. Milk is fine. But Cheese ewww. I would rather eat mud than cheese. Sorry, But I hate cheese. The only decent one is 'stinking bishop' I tried that and liked it. I prefer to eat that than any of the other horrible makes.

I have disliked cheese since a child, never really eaten it on bread as it is, nor do I like french cheeses and such. Funny enough, I do enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches, one of my favourite lunch dishes actually.

I love Cheese, I really do.

I love a nice sharp cheese, like a cheddar (or Wensleydale), the soft bries and camemberts, even many of the blue cheeses.

I don't really like Edam cheese though - I agree with the poster who feels as though it is what rubber would taste of if you tried it. I feel the same way. Each to their own, though.
