Topic: How did your day go my dear?

Subject: How did your day go my dear?
Date: Aug 21 08

Gentle but enlightening thread letting everyone know how your day was and how you are..

(As this seems to be a topic which many have enjoyed it would be a shame to lose it due to a technical glitch!)

Enjoy...

s-m-w My day started very wet and overcast but the prospect of a couple of days off always cheers me up.

Lunch in a very friendly pub soon put the smile back on my face though.

It ended tinged with sadness at the horrific crash at Madrid airport, would probably not have affected me so if I had never landed there.

Funny how such things put the world in prospective and changes ones attitude towards ones own humanity.

Todays a new day..yay...will let the world know later how it went...lol

At least the sun is shining today so should be able to get grass cut before it grows to a rain forest.

Had a nice piece of retail therapy this morning, now must work to pay for it.

I did my bit to boost the economy last week at Lakeside - OH says it's very kind of me to try and dig the country out of a possible recession single handedly.

GCSE results day today and I am going to be a boastful Mum - oldest daughter got 2 C's, 5 B's, 2 A's and 1 A*. She needed a C average with a B in History and English to do her college courses, so she's in with room to spare.

Sally, I think, between us, we can save the country's economy.

BIG congratulations to your daughter.

I picked my offspring up from the station yesterday evening. He'd been up all night putting the finishing touches to a student magazine. He ate, slept (and slept), ate breakfast, showered, and hopped in the car. I'm so pleased I took two trout out of the freezer for today's lunch. Grrr. I sent him off with a pile of sandwiches instead. He's going to help a friend move from one near-central London flat to another, then rehearse in the evening. Tomorrow (Friday) he will check the proofs, Saturday evening another rehearsal, and probably driving home home afterwards, although he is almost always away for longer than he thinks he will be. I just feel like I've been hit by a little whirlwind.

perthbooter At last some warm weather for West.Aust. I was getting tired of the cold, In Melbourne, Victoria where my middle son lives it is snowing, I am due to visit in a couple of weeks so hopefully it should have warmed up by then. As you can most probably guess I don't like the cold. We have just been through a gas shortage due to a major fire in the gas pipe line in the North of our State so our supplies for heating purposes have been limited. Thankfully supplies are back to normal. Enjoy your day.

perthbooter Congrats. to the proud Mum supersal1 and to her daughter.

My day is going well so far today. I actually slept last night (as far as I know) so I'm a little tired but not as bad as some days. I'm also really excited because it looks like I may be getting a house soon, and when i get a house I can finally buy a dog (which I can't have in this apartment) so I'm very excited about the next few months.

Got a parking ticket! My car park ticket had fallen off the dashboard so wasnt visable!

Julie, write to the council with a copy of the ticket, you should get it waived. That happened to me once.

So far as tension and daughter goes, the game plan is AS levels next year, A levels after that, then possibly degree or the forces - aaargh!

Phew at last it has stopped raining and actually sun has been shining most of the day - managed to get the washing dry! Guess that means I will be ironing it tonight. Work tomorrow - long holiday week-end so expect will be cream crackered.
Been watching the brilliant BMX racing at the Olympics - sad our girl had such a bad fall - good spectator sport.
Doing a bit of sewing and hope to have a kip soon as couldnt sleep last night.. boo hoo

Sal, a big well done to your daughter, she must have worked very hard to achieve those grades!

Well today, I have been chained to the ironing board, as well as having a mostly rain free day, and I too got washing dried.

My daughter has 3 new books for her collection, so I probably won't be seeing her until they are read.

And now, it's back to ironing, deep joy!

Have had a rain free day, collected the programmes for mondays soccer match and yes i have it ordered the DVD for Mamma Mia now all i have to do is wait until 25th November to recieve it. Pre order is the way to go as one you dont pay for it till it is dispatched and if the price drops you get it cheaper.

This afternoon, I made another bread pudding. The other one was delicious. And it wasn't very big. Really.
And I've just emptied the dishwasher. Soon I shall fill it up again.
Sometimes the excitement is hard to take.
