Can't remember too much about yesterday - slept and relaxed after a particularly traumatic working week-end. At least the sun shone though - unlike today which is wet and freezing cold - even snow showers forecast now.
So much doom and gloom and negative news everywhere - all very depressing.

Prof, my daughter and I saw Mary Poppins in London, it was brilliant!
Had a lazy day today, ironing and cleaning all done! My daughter is half term, we were meant to be going to the Medical Museum today, but she wanted to bake cakes and 'chill'. So timetable for the week has been revised.
I started to write a quiz, which will hopefully be ready for submission in the next couple of days...
Am supervising my daughter later when she makes creamy chicken and bacon pasta bake for tea... and that's about it!

Oh I love snow......the nails sound wonderful Sherry, are you going to a Halloween party?
We're all ready for the trick or treaters...have some wonderful balloons, that look like pumpkins, that light up! Pumpkin is getting scooped out later, and we have little skelton things and bats, oh and a huge poster thing...I'm going to answer the door without make up that'll scare them lol

Really heavy frost this morning, but beautifully sunny. Stayed in bed until 9.30 as it is "our" week-end. Off to House of Fraser for brekkie (cheaper and nicer than Asda)! No party DC, just fancied a dark purple this time...looks really good. Have bought a load of sweeties though and will look for those balloons, sound brilliant!
Bit of retail therapy today and also buy one or two Christmas prezzies. Only 2 weeks until due date for my new granddaughter - Evie!

Rotten annoying yesterday - drove half a mile to the nearest garage to get oil, arrived with a shredded tyre. Seems I drove over a nail, which is still embedded in the old tyre which is sitting in the boot where the spare is. Expensive trip.
Gary, glad to hear you've found a bit of relief after a difficult few days.

Sherry....the balloons are from Tesco...£3 for 4, but couldn't resist them...plus my baby 'witch' ( bless her) saw them and thought they'd be brill!
We are going out for lunch shortly and then crimbo shopping...shop near me has 25% off all Radley, including purses, so the girlies are having a little Radley purse for Christmas, plus I have seen this adorable bag...£62.50, a bargain!
How lovely a new baby, what a wonderful early present!

My son has just phoned. There are seagulls flying around central London and, in the space of a four-minute walk to the tube station, he has been twice blessed - all over his navy blue cashmere coat. I didn't try telling him it was lucky.

We're enjoying our first real snowfall of the year. Lovely to look at, too windy and cold for going out :-)

All Blacks beat Aussie[19/14] in the first ever 'off-shore' Bledisloe Cup match (Not played on NZ or Aussie soil).
My cousin in UK who would have watched the game, instead had a doctor's appt, he's going in for the chop. I couldn't stop giggling throughout the game as he was txting me about his 'consultation' LOL
Sherry;Maybe you should just buy your son a lotto ticket and post it to him, that could be lucky:-} Either way that wee snippet from your day gave me a good laugh!

Found a black widow in the house on Thursday, so Friday was spent cleaning and fumigating the place. Now the house smells like bug spray. I hate using the stuff -- I have lizards and geckos instead for natural bug control, and I thought we had a deal: they could live in my house as long as they ate all of the bugs. Up until now, it's worked pretty well, but one black widow nullified that arrangement. Now I imagine that the little guys have been gassed out of the house, and I'll have to use pesticides to deal with the bugs, which means I'll probably die from cancer. I probably would be better off with a black widow bite...

Poneke, it's OK - it's easily done. It's usually leelee63 and me, so this makes a nice change.
I have a deal with the spiders - they can live in my cupboards as long as they keep the flies down. Seems to be working. Luckily we don't have poisonous spiders in Britain (yet).
Lesley not leelee or sherry

See -- I feel that way about scorpions. We have people here who live with scorpions in the house, and I couldn't handle that -- I'd move! It's easier to get rid of spiders than scorpions.
