Topic: How did your day go my dear?

Subject: How did your day go my dear?
Date: Aug 21 08

Gentle but enlightening thread letting everyone know how your day was and how you are..

(As this seems to be a topic which many have enjoyed it would be a shame to lose it due to a technical glitch!)

Enjoy...

My day is good. However, my wish that the laundry would wash, dry and put itself away did not come true. Oh well.

Later, I will engage in a most exciting event..I will empty the dishwasher and refill it as well. Two events in one. Amazing!

Hey, household olympics. Who knew?

The tedium seems to be spreading far and wide, there was nothing wrong with today but nothing right either. I didn't sell any more postcards, took some pictures for a change (not) and went to my mum as I do every Friday, with absolutely nothing on TV. And those are the highlights...

"..I will empty the dishwasher and refill it as well."

A machine to do the dishes does sound exciting! I'm getting ready to do dishes the by hand.

My grandmother tells me that soaking my wedding ring in dish water three times a day will make is last longer.

"...soaking my wedding ring in dish water three times a day will make is last longer."
Fascinating. Trying to work out what's behind it. Two things I can think of:
- It's not really about the ring - it's about the marriage. You have to feed your husband three times a day to make the *marriage* last;
or
- It's a myth created by non-ring-wearing married men to make sure their wives do all the washing up.

Today I greeted the postman for the first time in two years. His marriage fell apart but he and his "lady" have moved to a village, which he says is beautiful, and he is happy. He looks it, which is good to see. He brought back a pair of cufflinks my son lent someone to wear with his concert dress (again, about two years ago) and his mother just got round to putting them in the post. So I rang her up to thank her and had a nice chat.

And I have just opened the window, and got the smell of garden coming in - not next door's fag smoke. So I am happy.

Sherry- do you like Radley handbags as well lol

Well thus far today, even with a head over and a hang ache have pegged yet more washing out, got the steam wallpaper stripper out and got rid of an awful sticker from the wheelie bin, and done some gardening. Siesta time shortly methinks.

I bought my son's girlfriend a Radley handbag for her 18th. It cost the same as a small car. But she loves it and uses it whenever she wants to look smart. So that's all right then. :/

Yep, have to admit to a Radley or two, or three - not all at once, but collected over the past 5 years or so. Have a Radley key ring thingy in girly pink which was a prezzie - sad or what, but I love it!
And a passport holder with a blue dog.
Daughters also into Radley, but they only get change purses!
Day was predictively hard, was the companies birthday, so wine and nibbles all round - and some great Hotel Chocolat choccies...yum
Now home to put feet up - after I have cooked dinner...grrrr Courtesy of Mr Marks and Spencer!
Going to spend the evening doing nuffin and listening to the last choir.

Oh dear - I got her a wallet for her 20th. Happily it cost less than a small car, and I deliberately avoided pink, which she was pleased about. I love the designs and the quality but I'd have to do something about the dangly dog. Not my style really, danglies.

Ah Lesley, it's the dangly doggie that's the best bit lol

I do have a soft spot for Radley handbags and treat myself to one a year. I have 15 now.

Fortunately my daughter is 13 and not really in to handbags as such, but she does 'borrow' the touche eclat for her spots!

Well lazy afternoon, had a snooze and watched Return to the Secret Garden, and now tis time for X factor, so am away.

Hope veryone enjoys the rest of their Bank Holiday weekend.

perthbooter Had a great day Saturday..Daffodil Day over here a day when everone tries to raise money for Cancer Research by various ways usually involving daffodils. We have daffodil badges, arm bands, pens etc. yellow donuts and of course the beautiful flower itself. I took part in a linedancing social, 5 hours nonstop dancing, everyone wearing yellow and/or daffodils and the spot prizes were daffodils or donuts, a great fun day. We raised in excess of $2500 with a few more donations yet to be counted. Bit sick of yellow donuts though, I actually won a box of 12 LOL. I don't know if any other country has Daffodil Day?
