DrBobWill is the best. He is very involved in many projects outside of FT and is an excellent team leader.

My day was excellent. Part of it involved the home and associated chores, the rest involved having fun and watching a movie.

I did wonder Judy, I do lose track as so many people have come and gone since I joined but as you know he does like lost sheep to return so no barriers there.

Didn't sleep again so very tired. Several really major things going on today so a tad stressed. Glad to unwind on this site.

Today was relatively mild for this time of the year so I spent part of the day picking up small branches which had blown off the trees in my back yard on Saturday - we had winds gusting up to 90 kmph and I'm surprised that none of my windows broke, they were rattling so much with every blast.

Monday: went shopping in the snow. Finished shopping, ready to drive home, locked the car with the engine running. (I'd always thought that people who locked their keys in the car weren't firing on all cylinders. I'd like to change my mind about that now please.)
Tuesday: got to sleep at 4am, woken up at 8.30 by a tree surgeon chain-sawing branches. Two hours of intermittent whirring, then they brought the lorry off the drive and on to the road - surrounded by road signs that cut the road down to one lane - thanks very much - and plugged it into the shredder. Two hours of the noise of a diesel engine running, and branches being fed into (and out of) an industrial-strength timber-shredder.
Then the little darlings had a lunch break, and came back to spend two more hours cleaning up, with leaf-blowers that were about as loud as a Jumbo Jet. It was across the road, but the noise still made the things in my house rattle. Don't we love having neighbours?
Today I've had seven hours' sleep - bliss - and am doing as little as possible. :)

Rest on, Lesley. Hopefully, no one will have trees to shread today.
Isn't the shreading machine loud? It sure saves on having to haul away branches instead.
Did you receive any of the mulch for your garden? It was the least they could do for you.

Although I am sure that the noise and disruption will be an absolute bore, just think of all the positives of having your home modernised free of charge and the pleasure you will get from the finished product. You even get the opportunity to re-decorate and stamp your own mark on the place.
Hang in there Gary, there are many who would love to swop.
My day was super, breakfast out, fantastic evening meal (thanks Bee) and now chilled and looking forward to another day off in the warmm and dry tomorrow

It looks as if Professor and I are in the same boat with major house repairs. We started a complete renovation of the upstairs (floors, painting, new furniture) last year only to tear apart the basement (new bathroom, closets, and partition) this year.
My workdays have been lighter recently which leaves me more time for the really important things: my son, home renovation and FunTrivia! Blame it on the economy, but we're turning our lemons into lemonade!

No mulch, Mo. I believe the tree surgeons who cut branches, and do you a great big favour by taking them away, make rather a decent profit when they sell the wood bits.
I would have been happy if they'd loaded the branches onto the lorry, and skulked off to find another "nice quiet area" to do the shredding in. Wishful thinking.
