Topic: How did your day go my dear?

Subject: How did your day go my dear?
Date: Aug 21 08

Gentle but enlightening thread letting everyone know how your day was and how you are..

(As this seems to be a topic which many have enjoyed it would be a shame to lose it due to a technical glitch!)

Enjoy...

s-m-w Having a very well deserved day off and thought I would try to spark some discussion on the chat boards.

lesley153 I had a light perm many years ago, and emerged looking like Harpo Marx. It grew out!

Today was my first cardiac exercise class for three weeks, and I paid for it. Must keep up between Wednesdays! Today I went round with two men I haven't gone round with before, and they showed me something new and ... er ... interesting. Instead of doing press-ups against the wall, or (argh) on the floor, they the leading edge of the kitchen worktops and do "plank" press-ups. I joined in. Ooh am I going to have biceps!

Most of the women don't talk to me. It's a bit like the school playground.

trojan11 Three weeks in Europe and England and got back yesterday. Recharged and ready to go. My brother dragged me to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur; glad I went, but don't want to do it again.

The second day in a row with one planned visitor and one surprise one. I'm just hoping I haven't used up my quota for the month, season or year...

Thanks for reviving this one, I hope more people join in now as I like to keep up.

After two very busy days I wanted a rest but was only given a couple more days to see my friend who only comes home once a year now and was going abroad again at the weekend. I really needed a break but called about 5 to say I was in the rest of the day and heard nothing. I caught up online and then cut the front hedge and roses (which required a ladder) as I have a new (old but new to me) cutter and new (really) cable as it wasn't donated with one. I then had a nice walk around the park which surrounds my estate on three sides so can walk around a mile and only a few hundred yards along a road. I then relaxed in front of the TV and computer and am now charging my personal battery.

My knee buckled while taking a load of laundry through the kitchen to the laundry room. I dropped everything and tried to catch the door frames but fell back and hit my head on one of the kitchen chair legs. Result was knots on both hands and a huge one on the back of my head. It hurt but I guess I will survive.

lesley153 Ouch ouch OUCH! (((( Judy ))))

I saved a life yesterday. Enjoying an orchestra concert, but there was a little boy behind me, who shouldn't have come, except £1 for a child ticket is cheaper than a baby-sitter. He spent the whole concert playing with a hand-held computer game ... and I didn't kill him.

s-m-w Aww bless him, don’t ya just love the school holidays?

Days of extra noise and irritation. Just why are kids worse behaved and whingier today?

My day is going fine, have locked the double gates to the drive and am keeping away from bored brats...lol

Lesley, we have a school academy at our school once a year, where students show us their skills, you know, singing, dancing, some theater. I, as a teacher, spend my time tearing earphones off the audience´s (understand, the classmates´) ears. Without warning:)

lesley153 I'd have been very happy to tear the toy from his sweaty little fingers, but he would probably have howled and tried to get it back. I would have been just as happy to tear the glazed expression from his mother's pasty face, but goodness knows what she would have had to say to that. The only thing I'm confident about is that "I'm so sorry you were disturbed" wasn't going to be it.

I take great comfort from the image of you removing offending earphones, from young people who probably won't fight or answer back. Do they apologise? I hope so.
