Helped son get back to college and his new flat yesterday.
Looking forward to Sunday lunch out with a crowd. Sod's law - woke up feeling rough - decided to stay away from human beings, just in case.
Rang up to make my excuses, found I'm the second person to wake up feeling similarly rough and cry off. A mutual friend has had the same thing but recovered. A few days ago, we both saw the mutual friend, who had "forced herself" to come out, even though she wasn't feeling very well.
Struggling against the lurgy, to go out and mix with human beings, isn't brave and admirable. It's pig selfish. (That was a rant.) Feeling better now, though. Just have to look forward to the next lunch out.

Kinda boring, I was mad since I woke up at 11 a.m. and didn't stay up all night on a Saturday [I woke up before that at 3 am], then I went on FunTrivia, ate some of my Dad's fries and went on FunTrivia again.

Great day off together - did a lot of autumn work in the garden - pruning and leaf tidying - robins were pleased!
Down the pub with smw for our usual Wednesday meal and now in for a great evening of togetherness. Love these cooler evenings when we can light a fire and chill in its light.
Been one of those lovely sunny autumnal days - even got to cut the grass for probably the last time

Today was ok in school, I got a bad grade on a test, I got a good grade on a test, I got the newest Clique book from my school library and Math was easier then ever.
Oh, and I forgot about my Religous Education class today [it starts right now], so that's always good.

it was a wonderful day today ... i got a bit of extra and much needed sleep ... a friend took me to lunch ... another friend phoned with some very kind words of appreciation ... i patched up some hurt feelings with someone else over my harsh words ... i got to read my book after dinner ... and it was even a more beautiful sunset than last night :)

Pretty cruisy day . . . home-cooked 'english breakfast'. Lovely warm spring day so got loads of washing done. Went on the net and joined up on a cool-looking site called funtrivia:-). Watched the rugby quarter-finals.Checked Lotto results and didn't win the 24million, but neither did anybody ele so biggest jackpot in NZ lotto history up for grabs next week! Went back on funtrivia and was minding my own business, playing a quiz when BANG! some idiot taxi-driver lost control and crashed into my next-door neighbour's garage and took out the whole side of the building! Next thing we've got the police and fire service blocking the road, no injuries or loss of life and the bonus was a good perv at all the blokes in uniform.Yummy!

Welcome, poneke! Good that nobody was hurt but have you got somewhere to sleep?
Ten odd years ago, my son, wanting to help, offered to defrost the fridge/freezer. What I didn't know at the time was the he helped some of the ice on its way with a screwdriver.
"There's an odd noise coming from the fridge. Sort of hissing."
Close the fridge door, send him next door, call the emergency services. They took it very seriously. Apparently, you can get ammonia leaking out, filling up the house and suffocating anyone who's in it. They sent a fire engine with four men. Imagine that - four. Hunky. Firemen. Phew!
Not that I'm making suggestions or anything...

That´s strange, Lesley, because exactly the same thing happened to me some years ago, only it was me who was so impatient to defrost the fridge with a screwdriver and punctured it. But nothing happened. I just stood there and listened to the hissing sound. Then I opened the window (and cried). I am sorry that I helped the ozone hole to get bigger.

Not too bad - I stayed home from work today with my son, as he is not feeling well.
He has only puked twice today , so it's not all that bad.
He could have chosen a better day - I had so much on / to do - but I hope he is feeling better (which he says he is a little).
I do love that boy - and I feel better for staying home with him and being with him when he's not well. Initially I felt guilty about my work load, however, he is more important than that. I won't get this time back, so I need to make the most of it, even if he is sick. I hope he remembers this when he is older - that his mum loves him, and is always there for him.

He is more important than work - dare I say that he is more important than anything? - and he will remember. He will not forget that you love him and are always there when he needs you. I promise! :)

Lol Lesley and thanks for your welcome. I joined for the global (though do love a good natter too) was progressing at a dizzying speed in my 2 days only to log on and see that it was all over!
As it was my neighbour's garage i slept soundly. And NZ has no ozone protection during spring and summer(the hole shifts over NZ) so I'll be slapping on my SPF30 sunblock over the coming 5-6 months and waiting patiently for the next lot of boy-racers(Grrrrr)to wipe out for my free perv:-)
