For a bit of fun, let's try this, imagine someone from FT is going to pay you a visit. You want to offer them a great time and you decided to cook something special for him/her.

What would you be cooking for me if I were visiting your home?

I would make homemade pizzas, mini chef salads, garlic bread with parmesan butter, and for dessert browni sundaes. I would serve as a beverage tea and probably your favorite cocktail drink.

I see lots of mouth-watering menus posted, Agnes, so here's the plan: I'll volunteer to accompany you on the meal tour and will bring the cocktails. I know....it's a nasty job but SOMEBODY has to do it! :)

callie_ross I don't know you so I have no idea what kinds of foods you like or if you have any food allergies, so I'd hope for the best! I would make you some of my famous spaghetti that everyone who's eaten it raves about. I would also make you some garlic bread, homemade of course! Then we would have a nice salad with it. The salad would be topped with homegrown tomatoes, a little green pepper, shredded cheese & croutons. The salad dressing would be whatever kind you prefer. :)

Didn't know you were Hannibal Lecter in disguise! Guess you won't have to worry about dinner guests, Weiss!

What about a good old fashioned South African Potjie? Made with lamb knuckles and layered with vegetables, herbs, salt and pepper, in a three legged black cooking pot. Put on the fire and allowed to simmer for a few hours. Served with Four Oceans Sauvignon Blanc. Wonderful!

tinamomnsox My home-made pork & sauerkraut with whipped potatoes. Then for desert, my special fruit salad or my root-beer floats. Then, we top that off with my snow cream and last, but not least, we have cocoa with gobs of marshmallows in the living room.

I would offer you your choice of wine, beer or pop. Then I would ask what kind of pizza toppings and crust you preferred before I called pizza place for home delivery.

You would say, "I'm more in the mood for Mexican."

I'd say, "Great, I know a place nearby that has 1/2 price Happy Hour between 3:00 and 7:00....Let's go!"
