I'm trying, but my daughter is selecting universities on the basis of how close to home they are.
I couldn't wait to leave, so I find it a bit odd to have children that want to stay :)

I don't know what it is but independence isn't valued as much as security anymore it seems.

I have a feeling kids are very comfortable at home these days, why leave all that for dingy university accommodation, student debt and having to do your own washing and cooking ;)
I think all kids should have to live away from home for uni, it's part of the education :)

It's good to know I'll be getting support from you lot as I shove my nestlings over the edge and into the wide blue yonder. :)
Although she does her own laundry, often cooks and hoovers...

Ooo, well trained... send her round!
At the moment I'm trying to teach my kids to put stuff away when they've finished with it... I'm always picking stuff up. *sigh* They somehow manage to make a mess without trying!

Important part of the educational process is stuff you learn at home. Like learning to do what mom and dad does for you. Boy Scouts really emphasized that.

AB , I felt that you and your team should be going for Pirates of the Caribbean .
"Nobody move ! I've dropped me brain !"
Apart from the lead players , didn't you love Keith Richards as Captain Teague?

I loved those films TCEB, and yes, I thought Keith Richards was wonderful. Probably chemically preserved, but I'm delighted that he took part.
The insane section where JD is chasing a peanut is a classic.
