I'm pretty sure he's fishing but that rock looks a bit suspect.

I don't sit much when I'm river fishing. You gotta cover territory. That particular trip I cleaned about 95 lbs of catfish and small mouth bass. I also fell in the river a couple of times. Once when a tangle of water moccasins(poisonous water snakes) swam up to me. I jumped from rock to rock and fell in. I got out of there in a hurry. You English might be surprised to find that where I live the avg rainfall is over 1000 mm/year. I think you would have to go to Scotland to match that.

You don't need to go to Scotland, we have 1100mm of rain a year around Morecambe Bay, but no water moccasins. I think the most dangerous thing in the water here are sticklebacks and polution of various forms lol.

There you go... mentioning snakes again *shudder*... I'm so glad we don't have any real nasty ones here.
And that's some rainfall you've got there! It's on a par with us on the west of the UK... the east is drier. I don't like constant rain but a good downpour every week or so is good :)
We've had wall-to-wall sunshine today, I was cutting the grass in my T-shirt :) I'll have to do the back tomorrow so I hope it stays dry.

I'll see your 1100 mm and raise you 220mm or 1320 mm/yr which is 52 inches/yr. Which is what we get. I was being conservative in case you hyper competitive English tried to trump me...LOL

I hope you don't mind me asking baban, but wasn't that a bit immodest? Just a t-shirt ;-) My word, did many join you in the mowing?

Nope, can't beat that RJ.
But we do steal your warm water from the Gulf of Mexico, the added warmth is probably what keeps the rain away and made it a T-Shirt day here today as well.

RJ, if I was just in my T-shirt I think folks would be running in the opposite direction :D... it also might be a bit uncomfortable, all those grass cuttings and all ;P
And yes, you do get a lot of rain, you beat out Seattle :) So tell me RJ, does the rain come in deluges or constant bleurgh? ... I'm guessing some good rainstorms :)

Actually, according to the weather service its fairly evenly distributed with May getting the most about 5 inches. I've only lived here about two years but I went to Rice University which is in Houston for three and a half years.
I lived most of my life in Plano, just north of Dallas which doesn't get anywhere near the amount of rain that this area gets.
I don't mind the rain but the Hurricanes has taken some getting used too. Scary as hell as a matter of fact ;-(

My dad went through a couple of hurricanes when he was posted to Belize. I've always been glad that my only experiences have been second-hand.
Bad enough when we had a hurricane in Sussex over 20 years ago, you can still see evidence of damage now.

Hello everybody.
I went to the dentists today and had a tooth out. Now I've got a lovely black eye where the dentist hand slipped as the tooth came out. Never mind I can always say my husband beat me up lol.
