Llamas never sleep, we nap with one eye open.
So don't try sneaking up on any of us, the herd is always ready.

Aww, the dog ate the duck. That's life.
Or not life.

The dog did not eat the duck, it's the duck's best friend but it loves gnawing on a llama leg bone.

Howdy y’all Forrest Grump is baaaaaaaaaccck. Only briefly, so don’t be alarmed my little Llama buddies :-) ;) ;o etc.
I won’t be participating in the proposed oversupply of disingenuous smiles which I consider to be a socially unsound practice and whose overall affect would only serve to further dilute an already serious shortage of believability in the internet world. Smiley proliferation is reaching dangerous and absurd proportions in my opinion. This smiley glut is the same kind of surreptitious "irrational exuberance" that plagues our financial markets today.
Only a few years ago the basic unit of social exchange for a rather amusing conversation was a simple :). Today, that simple smiley has been devalued and replaced by a plethora of other cute little saying and symbols. It’s only a matter of time until they become over used and devalued rendering them of little or no value or use in the social context. But until then, I’ll be ROTFLMAO.
Happy Thanksgiving :(~)...... (~ = little whatchamacallit in the back of the throat)

1. Llama droppings from 100 Acre Wood (4)
Sounds like excrement but the cryptic clue says to look inside 100 Acre Wood = CREW = Pirates
2. Lacking in knowledge or sophistication like a llama. (8)
= Oxymoron
3. All pirates resist control or authority. (10)
Resist? ... HOPELESSLY.
4. Estimable, commendable, venerable, good, splendid, worthy, marvelous, ...Pirates (9)
= Oxymoron2
5. Former home of the Dalai Lama (5)
A little known consequence of the credit crunch has been the repossession of the Dalai Llama's house making him homeless or maybe 'Om less' = a TRAMP.
6. Highest quality Pirates (9)
= Oxymoron3
7. A deposition landform found off coasts where you find llamas (4)
= SPIT (What llamas do to pirates and what pirates do because they don't know any better)
8. Merciless and cruel llamas. (8)
= Ppirates
9. A transport system in London where all llamas should be. (11)
= UNDERGROUND taking a tube to Heathrow to fly home to the Andes thereby never having to mix with any nasty pirates on the high seas.
10. Slow moving or inactive llamas. (4)
These would be All pac - ked up - as (or APKA for short)
11. I take pleasure in creating this quiz (5)
Jane, have you really not learned to count up to 8 for Cyberhen yet?
That gives COHOTOSPUAC
= Catch up ooos
Now I'm guessing that pirates don't know their letters from their numbers too well which would render it - Catch up zeros which is what the llamas will be saying to the pirates at the end of December.

You took your time Les, I reckon you got 2 right.
Not very good then, couldn't you think up wrong answers for 7 & 9?
I had expected better, and repeat answers i.e.oxymoron are just not acceptable.
I will expect a return to your usual high standards when publish my next quiz.
Jem.
