Subject: Questions from GOW's Blog
Date: Dec 03 08

I have been consistently posting riddles and questions on my blog, but in order to expand the challenge for more people, I will post the questions here.

Keep an eye out for new questions on this post.

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

143. Alexander (the first and last name of somebody in the Hall, Grover Alexander and Alexander Cartwright, just like Earl Warren and Warren Burger)

#143's analogy is too vague. Both mine and salami's answers are right.

143 is correct with Alexander (or Carlton for that matter). The names for each analogy is the first name and last name for some member on that list. While other answers are *correct*, Alexander or Carlton is the most exact, trivia-wise.

147 is a two-word phrase.

148 is the Lion King. These words are sung in Swahili, not English, but nonetheless said.

149 is Blue's Clues characters. I intentionally used inanimate objects, because dog, cat, human, etc. are too broad. Also, I couldn't figure out a way to describe the Felts.

150 is not Myrtle Beach State Park. It was founded 2 years later. The answer to this question is pretty much in the question.

151 is Arabic/Aramaic/Quran/Bible.

Obviously we can't get any more answers... Hints, maybe, are needed?

I will give hints tomorrow. I've been slacking, and I missed my last deadline, so I have to come up with 5 questions by tomorrow. I'm guessing I'll have 3 trivia and 2 wordplay, because that's how I roll.

I work well under pressure. New stuff tomorrow, promise.

Just to catch up, I have the following as the unanswered/unconfirmed questions:

50. Take the name of an animated character that was the main character of a TV show in the last 5 years. Now, take the word for what describes this character. (So, you can feel in this sentence: ___ is the ___) These two words together have an even number of letters, half of the letters are vowels, and all of the vowels are the same vowel. What are the words?

91. What does this frequency of numbers mean? One=2 Two=5 Three=2 Four=2 Five=1 Six=3 Eight=1 Twelve=1

117. What number comes next in this sequence? 1, 3, 16, N/A, 7, 18, N/A, 25, 22, 4, N/A,

129. The gemstones for March and August are the only ones that don’t have what?

147. Take something that might have crawfish cocktail over rice in it. If it is written in uppercase letters, this two-word phrase will have perfect horizontal symmetry. What is it?

For 50, the cartoon was Nickelodeon.

91 is VERY academic.

117 is a combination of history/world.

129 is wordplay related.

147 is pretty tricky. First figure out what letters have horizontal symmetry in capital letters. The two word phrase will be 13 letters long.

And now 5 new puzzles created in less than 24 hours.

152. In 2009, non-countries Aruba, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Turks & Caicos vied for a win in what competition?

153. Take the name of a movie that won Best Picture. Add a letter to it, and you now get the name of a movie that is sometimes considered "the worst movie ever made". What are these two films?

154. The British drinking song "The Anacreontic Song" will always be remembered for what?

155. According to the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary 4th Edition, what word means "to claw or grope about frantically"?

156. Frontwards, it WAS the big man. According to plan, if backwards, it is a canal. What are the words?
