Goodbye Mr. Chips, which was pleasant, and The Last Picture Show, which just didn't grab me.

Re-watched "Fargo" for about the 20th time (I kid you not).

The Three Musketeers from 1948. I knew it was going to be fun when D'artagnan tries to put on his father's belt but it's too big for him, and the soundtrack "laughs" at him. The swordfights were definitely over-the-top, but they weren't supposed to be realistic, so they were enjoyable. Gene Kelly (or his stunt double) did some really good stuntwork.
The only part that didn't work for me was playing the 4th movement of the Manfred Symphony over a swordfight by the sea. Manfred's too dark for that kind of light-hearted swashbuckling action (especially when they splice their own adventurous music over it).
Overall, it was fun.

Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring.
Wonderful movies set in provincial France about greed and revenge. Great cinematography and performances.

About the Algerian War. It's pretty good si vous pouvez gérer les sous-titres.

Over a period of time watched all episodes of "Angel", then "BuffyTVS", then "BTVS again and "Angel" again. Both were way better than I was expecting, and I love all the episodes that are self-parodying. The characters are great as well.
Last actual film was "The Great and Wonderful Oz" which was just not my cuppa.
Some films I can watch again and again: The Princess Bride, Young Frankenstein, Casablanca, The Hunger, Some Like it Hot, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Psycho, Ran, The Tin Drum, Pelee The Conqueror, Babette's Feast, Pulp Fiction...and more

Babette's Feast is a really pleasant movie. I know of a six-year-old who watches it (on a Danish subtitled tape!) because he likes that it's really calm.
