I'm a nervous wreck, LOL! I just submitted my first Challenge quiz into Brain Teasers. I've had pretty good success there, but I branched out a bit with this one and am quite anxious to see how it'll be received.|

Snowman, a question just popped up in my mind...|
What on Earth would possess you to choose the avatar you did? I just can't see why you, of all people, would choose a snowman.

I have 4 quizzes that have been hanging around in my quiz list for ages that I haven't completed. I get the urge to complete one, but then I see an Author Challenge and I immediately pounce on it. Perhaps those 4 are a job for this weekend.|

At the moment, I'm working on a challenge by Kyle, 'Female Math'. I accepted the challnge with a thought in mind, but alas the category was closed. This morning I had a flash of inspiration! I have written the questions which just flowed! I now have to work on the interesting info, so quite a few hours work left on this quiz.|

I am working on a quiz that I am struggling with a bit. It came out of research I did for a just submitted Challenge quiz and concerns Women of the Special Operations Executive. During WW2 ordinary women from all backgrounds left their husbands and children and volunteered for service in the SOE. 39 of them were parachuted into France to work with the Resistance, many as radio operators, an occupation with a very short lifespan. They did this knowing that capture meant torture and almost certain death, and of those 39 over half did not come back. Many of those captured were sent to the very worst Concentration Camps, Ravensbruck, Dachau, Belsen, where they were either executed or died of cold and stavation. I want the quiz to do justice to the memory of these women, but as I said I am struggling a bit at the moment.|

Wow StarStruck....that's quite a topic!|

Hm Star, is it possible to perhaps widen your parameters a bit, would that help? I mean there might not be enough material on that one group (SOE) so could you maybe take in other groups too? There was all that kerfuffle a few years ago with CIA files being opened and people like Julia Child hitting the radar as WWII 'spies', and of course the French Resistance was just full of heroines...or am I missing the point of where you are stuck?|

I hope to have my Laos quiz finished soon, then spend the rest of the week finishing my Kenya quiz cycle. The latter will probably be about six quizzes. Most of it's done--it's background for a paper I'm giving in October.|
Side note: if any of you have ever been to an academic conference, you know the quandary of having to choose between two good panels during the same session. The conference folks slated me into a good panel--Africanists all around, exactly the crew I want to be in with.
However, I'm speaking opposite a panel titled: "International Perspectives on Baseball and Pornography". (If you don't believe me, google it.)
I know which one I'd be going to.

If you've finished creating your quiz and are sure that it completely follows the site guidelines, it can be submitted.

ing, the problem isn't too narrow a subject, in fact it is the opposite, there is almost too much information. I want to do justice to what these women did, but without having the II going on and on and on to the extent that no-one will read it. I think I am starting to win though, I've got 4 questions done.|

I just submitted the quiz Niue: Discovered, for editor approval. It is in the Geography: New Zealand and Pacific Islands Section.|

I've just submitted another challenge quiz. It was strange...I had my eye on the title while waiting on my last submission to go through and wrote most of the questions. When I nabbed the title, it was great because I had most of the questions done. |
Then (in a bizarre twist of wanting to make way more work for myself) I completely changed the basis of the title, dumped all but one of the questions and rewrote it.

My quiz "Common Latin Words and Phrases" - a challenge posted by Terry - is in the queue.|
I'm preparing now some data to use next year for a series on toponymic food. But I'm not sure these will fit in an open category...

Wrestlers in Movies 2. I have edited it several times, but have not submitted it. What do I do next? How do I submit it?|
