I normally laugh at horror movies But I thought Wolf Creek almost scary.

I agree about 'Wolf Creek'. I think I'm hard to shock but I the 'head-on-a-stick' bit I found just plain nasty. Kind of spoilt the film for me.

The Omen for me - Damien freaks me out!

On a different track but...

Kids

Brutally, scarily, honest movie. A little overblown but not as much as people would prefer to believe.

Goes more towards the disturbing side than scary but:

Requiem For a Dream

Extremely well done movie but sheesh, talk about a one-time viewing. Right up there with Ichi the Killer - another psychologically disturbing movie.

live4trivia Ichi owns.
Japanese horror takes the genre to a whole new level.

Yep.

Irreversible is even more disturbing. I've seen parts of it. I won't watch that movie. Damaging.

I thought that "Requiem for a Dream" was a brilliant film; it was disturbing, but I would not put it on my Scary Movie list.

"Inside", a French film from 2007, was really frightening, but I can't say that I enjoyed it. The yuck factor was incredibly high, and it takes quite a bit to make me queasy.

I hear ya, cydonia.

I don't know - I can't find anything in a movie truly scary as you know they are fiction. Mentally disturbing, though, yes. :)

I've seen Irreversible. When I first saw the scene with Monica in the long tunnel, I thought to myself "Why am I watching police evidence?" Brutal.

Between that and the fire extinguisher scene... so not right.

rieker01 Insidious is the first movie in a long time to scare the crap out of me. Jaws is at the top of the list too. When that is struggling to get out of the water back onto the pier I still cover my eyes.

The Changeling is a classic haunted house story from 1980. Good and creepy.

Loved Insidious for a more recent scary movie.

pennywise86 BOTH JEEPERS CREEPERS DID IT FOR ME. IT'S JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THE DISTURBING ENDING IN THE FIRST MOVIE & THEN THE CORNFIELD EPISODE AT THE START OF THE SECOND MOVIE. BAT OUT OF HELL. I WISH THEY WOULD COME OUT WITH JEEPERS 3

The movie "Hostel" freaked me right out.

Couldn't agree with your more Pennywise. I'd love another Jeepers Creepers! Are you nicknamed after Pennywise the Clown?
